Solution: A current divider having two unknown resistors connects to an input source of 10 A. The current passing through one resistor is 4.117 A. Find the unknown values.

Solution:
Apply the current divider formula for the resistor R_2.
From this we get the equation:
5.883 R_1 - 4.117 R_2 = 0 .. (1)

Now by adding the second resistor, the new equation becomes:
From which we get the final result,
6.818 R_1 - 3.182 R_2 = 15.91 .. (2)

By solving both equations we get the final values of resistors:
R_1 = 7 Ω
R_2 = 10 Ω
