DC Calculation formula

I(DC) = [kW * 1000] / E 

Calculate the current passing through 5 kW DC Motors having rated voltage of 40 V.

I = [kW * 1000] /E = 5000 / 40 = 125 A

Single Phase AC Calculation formula

I(1φ AC) = [kW * 1000] / [E * PF]

Calculate the current passing through 2 kW, single phase ac motor having PF 0.8. Rated voltage is 220 V.

I = [kW * 1000] / [E * PF] = 2000 / [220 * 0.8] = 11.36 A

Three Phase AC Calculation formula

I(3φ AC) = [kW * 1000] / [E * PF]

Calculate the current passing through 2.5 kW, three phase ac motor having PF 0.8. Rated voltage is 400 V.

I = [kW * 1000] / [E * PF] = 2500 / [400 * 0.8] = 7.8125 A
